Data Collection Workflow
In a Univonix PBX migration project, 'Data Collection' refers to the extraction and export of PBX configuration data from your Legacy PBX systems.
This data will be used by Univonix to:
- Generate PBX Assessment Reports
- Generate PBX Feature Parity Reports
- Initiate Migration Planning Projects
There are two different data extraction flows depending on your PBX.
Flow 1. Where your legacy PBX has a 'native' export tool built in, such as Cisco CUCM. If you have such a PBX please consult with your SI on how best to export the required data for the Univonix project.
Flow 2. Where your legacy PBX has NO native data export functionality, for example, Avaya and Nortel. In this case you will use the Univonix Export Tool to extract the required configuration data.
Workflow Steps for Flow 2:
1. In the Univonix system, click on the user name in the top right hand corner of the system window. From the drop down click on Resources.
2. The Available Resources window opens.
3. Click on the Download button next to the user guide and software tool that you need for data extraction from your PBX. Each extraction tool has its own specific user guide that will walk you, step by step, through the process of installing and using that tool to extract the necessary data.
4. Once download is complete, read and follow the steps in the user guide.
5. Load the Export Tool onto a computer that has network access to the source PBX.
6. Open Export Tool and configure settings to extract ALL configuration data to file.
The exported data file will be imported into the Univonix system as part of the migration planning process.

Pre-requisites to complete this process include:
- Access and user rights to the Univonix online applications
- Access to a networked computer connected to the legacy PBX
- Credentials to access legacy PBX
- Rights to load and run third party software on that computer
